Insurance

All the students registered to the DMKM EM program have a social security and a mutual insurance (LMDE) that covers all health costs and civil responsibility, i.e. accidents.

For practical reason, the students are all registered at Lyon University. When registered, they will automatically be covered by the French social security if they are fewer than 28. The DMKM EM master will then apply for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for all the students, which will cover health expanses in all European countries, including Spain, Italy and Romania. The student spouse, and his/her children, if any, are also covered if they are nor students, neither active workers. If the student is more than 28, he/she will not take advantage of the student social security; he/she will then have to apply for the general regime, which will cover his/her health expanses. Any case, all the expenses of all the student are covered by his/her student fees.

In addition, the DMKM EM master will contract, for all the registered students, a supplementary health insurance that is valid all over Europe. This insurance covers both non-covered medical expenses and civil responsibility insurance. More precisely, the proposed solution is the LMDE “Flat rates” (26,25€ per month). It covers all the health expanses that are poorly or not reimbursed by the social security. In particular, it takes into account the following specific healthcare that are very poorly reimbursed:

• Prosthodentics or orthodontics (up to 250€ per year),
• Eyeglasses or contact lenses (up to 130€ per year),
• Hearing aids (up to 150€ per year),
• Obstetrics flat rate (up to 150€ per year)

• In case of accident or of health problems during the studies or during the training period, this insurance covers the costs of repatriation towards the country of the student.
